Nothing beats a hot shower a great workout!
Lately, have been deciding on a lot of things, but nothing's been done, apparently.
Once again, Mr. Ku's words have touched my senses, and set me thinking.
Chanced upon Busoni's transcription on Bach's Toccata and Fugue. I mean, whoa! I was prepared to buy / pay to download, but I was lucky man! Anyway, I've been like finding this transcription for a long........ time. It's not available in the library, not yet that desperate to get it online, BUT, reason why I love it is because the strong bass Busoni used. Although not really close to what the piece would sound like on the organ, but the bass really captures me. Same does his transcription of Chaconne. If you hear the violin version, it's not that strong, but the piano transcription reaches out to you. You gotta hear it to understand it.
I used to think the 15-mins long Chaconne is boring. Yes, to a certain extent, but you gotta look out for the pattern, and the details behind each variation. That's the magic. And the best part, Busoni's got it all captured in his piano transcription. Simply love it!
Going back to the concert hall on 29th Nov! Finally... Been going to VCH, now, it's time to go back to Esplanade CH.
I have my reservations about last Sunday's concert. Like what Mr. Ku said, gotta learn from it.
