So I did not go to the concert eventually... Edmund didn't go too...

Somehow my mood to attend that concert was affected by the upcoming SAT... If I had cleared my SATs and TOEFL, I wouldn't mind going...
Yeah, I know I wasted my money. I mean it's HAMELIN for God's Sake! I really wanted to watch his performance. BUT! The Shostakovich symphony will probably bore me to sleep. Some part of me asked me to just go for the piano concerto. Then again, it's not the concerto, but the pianist! ARGH... forget it. Will try my luck again when I'm in college.

A breakdown of the one-more-day-to-end-of-the-week week:
Mon: conducted IPPT in the afternoon. Joshua, thanks for being my Neutral!
Tue: I can't remember...
Wed: I can't remember again. Except that I did my 10km run in the morning.
Thur: DOO... damn...
Fri: Jessica Teng came, half-day off, went to NP, but still failed to get my letter of reference from my lecturer!

As you can see, some of the I can't remember constitutes sleeping, watching movies in camp (on a PSP), walking around acting important, chatting with everybody, anybody.
Seriously, such a schedule is soporific, and it's no wonder I have more than 7 hours of sleep everyday.

Maybe I should have went for Hamelin's concert, get his autograph and come home......................

Boring week... Seriously... And quite sleepy too...

Did my November DOO duty on Thursday... Damn shag; didn't sleep till 1 plus... and had to wake up at 5!!!

Oh, Welcome Jessica to our unit. Lady officer on VA. Bn HQ was down with a virus; all the Dys seemingly disappeared after having breakfast and some ice-breaking with Jessica... haha...

Having second thoughts about tmr's concert... Yea, I know... I paid for it already... But...

My SAT scores are out! I'm glad about my Mathematics score. Not so for my Physics. Was actually quite happy, because I totally studied it myself. There were a couple of chapters that I have never learnt before. Oh wells, Jia Yong said it's good enough, so, so be it.

Boring week, this week.

Mon: Can't remember what I did... Damn...
Tue: Went out for 'Madagascar Escape 2 Africa'. BORING! Cute? Yes. But not as funny as I expected.
Wed: ALMOST went out to drink. But unfortunately, it wasn't gonna be a peaceful night. We went out to get Alcohol and started drinking. 5 of us finished a bottle of Vodka and half a bottle of Chivas. Ok, not really alot, but enough to knock us out for a good night's rest and a damn drag morning.
Thur: Studied... Finally... Not for long though, slept like a pig after that.
Fri: Camp super duper quiet. Self-declared early release. Can't stand the serenity. yea right, it's more like 'ghost town'.

Did more running this week. Good job! haha... 1 x pat on my back.

2 weeks left to MY day.

A hectic week... Rather, a hectic thursday. It was unfortunate it happened, yet because of this unfortunate event, I fortunately found a sense of belonging and pride in my unit.
What seems to be long lost has been retrieved, by the result of everybody's hard work and sheer effort.

Subject Tests' results are coming out next Friday (USA's Thursday). I'm anticipating the results, yet, I have lots of fear of what I will receive in due time.

Been hanging out at the LAN shop those couple of days. Reflecting upon it, kinda time-wasting.

Confirmed the number of people turning up for my birthday. Am I looking forward to it? Yes and No. I'm turning 21! WTF?! It's not that I'm unhappy about it, neither is it that I'm glad that I'm stepping into adulthood. But, it just shows how fast time has passed. Soon, I'll embark on a heavier responsibility "job". Am I even ready for it? My heart's not even there. I'm still far from thinking of settling down. Young at heart, know what I mean?

Went for my pre-course briefing on Monday, there's gonna be lots of mugging. BUT, my boss has advised me on what to do, and what not to, I guess I'll TRY to follow suit.

Reasoning test's up on 6th Dec, my birthday..... And TOEFL on 13th...
I really wanna get out of here.

Matt's birthday is next Thursday, and that clown is telling me he's gonna spend it at a concert... Yea, with your 2 girl-friends again? Should really meet you out with Ed, do a combined celebration? haha... What say both of you? Or we could do it separately, but it's gonna be a difference of 5 days...

Have been cutting down on staple food recently, considering the huge amount of carbohydrate provided every meal.
I'm cutting down to 2 meals a day; I skip breakfast, unless I have PT in the morning. I even ask for less of everything for my lunch and dinner. All in the hope of reducing body mass gained. When you don't exercise as much as you did in OCS, it's really time to take in less food. Then again, lesser food = lesser energy... So is that the reason why I'm feeling listless easily these days? Or is there a better way to "jian fei"? I'm all ears...

Nothing beats a hot shower a great workout!

Lately, have been deciding on a lot of things, but nothing's been done, apparently.

Once again, Mr. Ku's words have touched my senses, and set me thinking.

Chanced upon Busoni's transcription on Bach's Toccata and Fugue. I mean, whoa! I was prepared to buy / pay to download, but I was lucky man! Anyway, I've been like finding this transcription for a long........ time. It's not available in the library, not yet that desperate to get it online, BUT, reason why I love it is because the strong bass Busoni used. Although not really close to what the piece would sound like on the organ, but the bass really captures me. Same does his transcription of Chaconne. If you hear the violin version, it's not that strong, but the piano transcription reaches out to you. You gotta hear it to understand it.
I used to think the 15-mins long Chaconne is boring. Yes, to a certain extent, but you gotta look out for the pattern, and the details behind each variation. That's the magic. And the best part, Busoni's got it all captured in his piano transcription. Simply love it!

Going back to the concert hall on 29th Nov! Finally... Been going to VCH, now, it's time to go back to Esplanade CH.

I have my reservations about last Sunday's concert. Like what Mr. Ku said, gotta learn from it.

Yeay! Got my Nov 29 ticket to Hamelin's concert! Nobody's going with me, but Ed will be there, 17 seats away from me.
Chanced upon a sistic outlet and decided to grab the ticket while there. Objective of that day's nights out was to play lan at Selegie Road... Battlefield. Shi Han and his friend, Jeremy, met up with us later.
Went for tou hua after game. Why not?! We're already at Selegie Road!

All the Dys moved out of our 2-men bunks, into a approximately 20 ft. x 21 ft. room. I'm using my US size 9 boots as a measure. Anyway, we got permission from S4, he said carry on. We started cleaning the room on Wednesday after work. Washing the floor and windows. Wanted to just move the beds and cupboards to decide on the arrangement, but decided to move in that night because of rat sighting... GROSS. So anyway, just 3 of us, we moved 5 sets of beds and cupboards, 1 sofa, 1 TV, and our personal stuff. We took a mere 5 hours. That! was a great accomplishment.
And while I was out last night, they went down to IKEA to get curtains. Orange and white... WTH.... I thought they'd choose baby blue or sth.... lol. Oh, and they bought a thermal flask for boiling water. Well done chaps!

Wasted my day this afternoon. If I had known the "importance" of the event, I wouldn't have made an effort to switch my half-day off. damn...

Duo Recital - Jin Li & Ong Lip Tat

Just returned from a recital with my sister... Quite nice... Loved the way Jin Li expresses. Of course, Mr. Ong's pianistic skills are apparent. Saw Minyu, Narissa, and "i-forgot-her-name" there too. Yea, saw Mr. Ku, but he didn't see me. And of all the pieces, fell in love with their Chopin Nocturne and Paganini's Moto perpetuo. It was obvious why Paganini was the violin's crazy composer. Jin Li played with such skills, that stamina, wow...

oh, I failed to wake up this morning to run. Damn!

Time to whine again. Ok, seriously, updates!

Mon: Deepavali! Not really a festive for me, studying for what is to come 5 days later.

Tue: I stood in DOO for Jing Heng till he came back from combat shoot. Wasted my whole afternoon. Then was forced to do Combat PT, I was quite angry with some arrangement, I decided to exhibit my wrath. Didn't go for the training in the end.

Wed: Nothing much, as usual, trying to finish up that BIG project. Went out for dinner with the other DYs though... Went for bak kut teh opposite Central Mall (Clarke Quay), then wanted to go for a drink at Boat Quay, but decided not to, because we were driving. Actually, I was driving. I! It's always me. When can they start driving me around?!
So we ended up going to Gloria Jeans just outside Cineleisure. Sat down there and chill. Not so chilly that night though, it was quite warm. Not much of a ventilation. Oogling at girls, talked about anything under the sun. Oh, we were in the same attire again! T-shirt, army black shorts, slippers! SSS! How 'no image'.

Thur: Finished my BIG project, finally! What a pain. Studied more...

Fri: Went for SOC in the morning. It's a nightmare! After 8 months of pure hibernation from combat fitness, the timing was totally rubbish! I failed by 30secs! F***! I have never felt so shag before. I stoned at the end point for like 20mins before recovering my heart rate and feeling that pathetic amount of energy left in my legs. I felt like vomitting. Gosh, it's scary.

Sat: that's today... Went for SAT subjects test! I'm so not hoping too much for the physics paper. But I'm crossing my fingers. I need the scores badly!

Time to work on my essays. A little TOO late I suppose, but I just gotta get it done.

"Plan as normal, cock up as usual".

I'm gonna sleep now, PLANNING to wake up early for a run. Then again, cock up as usual. Hopefully it won't happen!

Going to Mr. Ong's concert tmr night. Hopefully it's good, if not I'll kill my sister.

Oh, happy birthday to my 2 female friends who had their birthdays this week!
