Bored... Slept so much today that I'm gonna get real fat soon....
Finally settled on what to play, hopefully it won't be changed... Matt was saying we have 3 months to practise before the concert. But thinking that I actually have only 12 days worth to practise plus rehearsals, it's really scary!!!! One day per week * 4 weeks a month * 3 months = 12 days!!!! Argh! This is madness!
I'm having a sore throat that is killing me... Everytime I swallow something, it feels as though my throat is forked. I might have exaggerated a little, but it really hurts that much.
Life seems to work itself out of problems. Months ago, I was thinking, I was like worried how I'm gonna sleep in the jungle myself. Days before JCC I was worried sick how I'm gonna feel when I'm gonna kill a quail with my bare hands... Hours ago, I was contemplating if I should just go sleep and not stay up to have my reflections and peer appraisal done. Then I realised, hey, it's either I'm doing it, or I have already done it.
After a week plus in the jungle, I am beginning to appreciate things more. More so after I watched "An Inconvenient Truth" by Al-gore. Hopefully I got the title of the show right. Then again, we are already stuck with the way we're living. It's gonna be hard to change our lifestyles. Perhaps scientists should come up with alternatives to burning of fossil fuels, or anything to reduce the carbon dioxide emission. Don't waste your time coming up with statistics and making a documentary to tell people how many times they engage in sex in their lifetime, or the amount of alcohol they drink, or how much medicine they take, or how many times they visit the doctor, or at any one time 0.7% of the world population is getting themselves drunk, or telling us how much pampers are being used by babies, or how many people are dying of respiratory problems.
My mum was like persuading me out of going to Guards after talking to my cousin... I was like, er, I never really thought of it before, but after so much talking, I was thinking more already. Somehow, there's this part of me that wants to go to Guards. haha... That 3 weeks of conversion, yea, killer, but it's an experience... I dunno man...
Came across this video on Czerny's duet. Actually it was Gwen who reminded me that Czerny did write some duets. And while I thought it was gonna be some mozartian style kind of work, and I realised I was wrong! I could see some Liszt in the work, the dexterity involved. Oh gosh... I'm gonna ask Mr. Ku about it. Perhaps for the next Touch... haha...
Oh... I forgot to mention that I was damn lucky that day at the airport (on the way back home). I was asked to open my bag for a search of LAG (Liquids, Aerosols and Gels)... Because I had this 100ml of shampoo and 100ml of facial wash in my hand-carry lugguage. Back at the holding area I was contemplating if I should keep my 200ml shower foam... There's this new law, and I think it's so troublesome, that every LAG you carry in your hand-carry bag should not exceed 100ml, and collectively, they should not exceed 1L... Imagine if I didn't throw away my shower foam, I would have kena for disobedience of lawful order...
Damn! Was that a close shave!
P.S. Where are you???
A: Knock Knock
B: Who's there?
A: Nobody
B: Nobody who?
A: (Silence)
B: Nobody who?!
A: (Silence)
B: Alright, that's a good one....
Alright, gotta get back to do my work, Ciao world!
Touched down! Finally, at 2am this morning, I was back at homeland. "Thank you for flying with Royal Brunei Airlines" NO!!!! That wasn't my choice at all... I didn't wanna flying with u!
Was watching Project Runway just now... Heidi Klum, oh..... She's hot man! Heidi! Heidi! Heidi! Heidi! Heidi! Heidi! Heidi!
Got a little serious with practising today... Not bad... Got somewhere... haha... *Phew* At least I didn't leave my skills in the jungle!
9 days of JCC was a nightmare, but it was an experience, and I'm glad I went through it. I did things I never imagined I would do. I lived in conditions I never thought I would have. I survived on limited rations despite the strenous activities to be carried out everyday. JCC is really a test of one's determination.
The survivor's creed : For one to survive, one must die. The survivor's own preservation takes precedence over humanitarian principles.
And that's what I believe.
Went to see the doctor today because of some health problems, minor ones though. Got a little bit of gastric problem, foot infection and this super dry throat of mine. My throat is killing me!!!!!!!!!!!
There's a soft side in everyone after all... Some of us (including me), broke into tears a couple of times; when we managed to save ourselves at the very last moment from failing, and the moment we reached back camp and called our families. Everybody said the course was alright, not that hard, not that easy either, but somehow, we just couldn't control our tears when we finally made it back after 9 days. The memories of what we went through will stay with us probably (not possibly) for a very very long time. And no, I wouldn't wanna do it again! haha... It's 'do it once, do it good'. Just once for the memories.
Booking in on Monday noon... Got half a day's leave. Not bad... Could have been more, but thinking that the next badgework is coming up, there's really not much time left for preparation.
Everybody's starting to get their dates for Comms Ball... haha... And I'm still left with no one. I haven't ask though... Or maybe now's a good time!
*Ahem*... "Er, ah, hm, ah, a.n...y....o...one's er......, nvm...."
MATT!!! Found this website. Perhaps taking a look at it can help u think of more possibilities. http://www.pianoduo.it/programmi.html
Do check it out.
Alright, I'm gonna turn in now. Good nite world.
Leaving for Brunei real soon... Think it's kinda too fast... I can't describe my feelings for what is to come in Brunei... I just hope everything goes well.
Been quite pissed with this guy lately, because he's fucking un-reasonable... And my buddy went berserk yesterday... Still a little pissed with him till now. I mean, he's like freaking engrossed in his PSP, and he doesn't reply everytime you tell him sth...
Fell rather ill that day... No fever, but the cough and flu really got onto me. Still went for a tough 5BX yesterday morning... Thought it would be a good training despite the illness & recommendation not to do so.
Guess what? I have yet to pack my luggage!!! haha...
Haiz... I really have got nth much to blog about. But found out that this girl who I happen to have feelings for, is attached. Kinda depressing at first... But thinking about it, it's probably another sign to tell me to focus on my main goal first...
Have been scouting around for a duet piece... Asking around, and getting many many many many many many many answers... Really can't decide on what to play...
Scheherazade
Rites of Spring
Marche Characteristique
Scaramouche
Czerny's duet
Octavia Pinto's duet
or perhaps just keep to 'Poet & Peasant'?
Matt, you decide on the piece.
Oh, was watching Amazing Race on AXN just now... And thought perhaps I might wanna participate in Amazing Race Asia some day... haha...
Today is Saturday, But I'm booking in... Pech!
Reason being, there's a half-day activity tmr!!!
Booked out on Thursday evening because Friday's ECP run...
I woke up like damn early on Friday morning, didn't sleep much, because I turned in late the night before... Drove 4 other platoon mates to ECP...
Ran my 12km in 56mins 08secs! My record timing!!!!! Had futsal at the futsal courts nearby after that... Went for lunch at Manhattan's with platoon mates and went home... It was damn late already... And Mr Ku made me go for playing class that night... Couldn't tahan, and fell asleep near the end of the playing class... BUT, I could still hear the music, so I was only Partially asleep =)
P.S. Gwen, you're still shorter than me lah... haha...
It's been about 10 months since I last met Gwen and gang... Gwen is still dreaming as usual... Min Yu's still that serious... Miss Soon is still that smiley... And Mr Ku... Still that cool... haha... Er....
Rest time seem to pass very quickly, and soon enough, I'm booking in later, and I'm gonna be flying off for Brunei already... =(
P.S. I checked through and have sent it back to you.
A couple of my wing mates had their gfs tagging along for our ECP run... Again, thoughts of having a gf struck me... BUT, they were short-lived, because of some issues.
