Daily update:
Monday: Took over duty (BDO, yeay!) from my buddy. Did some work under my appointment too. Slept too little, didn't get a proper place to sleep in the office either. This day passed quickly, because I was drowned in work the whole day.
Tuesday: Damn tired after handing over my duty. Continued from where I left off the day before, a.k.a Monday! Went to look up Christine to get back my trophy which I apparently forgot its existence till she reminded me. Went down to Selegie Road for "Dou Hua" after that. Went back to camp feeling super weary.
Wednesday: Morning PT. Went to test myself 2.4km after that. Disappointing timing. "Getting old and slow". Chilled out in the office, first day of the month that I sat down and read the papers. Studied a little in the afternoon, nothing much to do. Went down to town, to chill.
Thursday: Supposedly half day. Got arrowed to do some work, drowned myself in work once again the whole morning. Finally released myself at 3pm! That's called half-day?!
Friday: Went to Yishun Safra for Air Weapon Training. Again, supposedly half-day, but got tied down by work again, left office at 4pm! HALF DAY?! Went to meet up Edmund for Geoffrey Saba's "Beethoven's last 3 sonatas" at NUS.
We had dinner at "Munchie Monkey"... We reached UCC at around 6.15pm, but they didn't allow us to collect our tickets. Oh, it's a free recital by the way, and tickets are given out only after 7pm. And no, we went for the recital not because it was free, but it was another genre of recital, and thought it might be refreshing.
Craved for desserts at dinner place, reached back UCC around 7.15pm. Started queuing in the damn long already queue. 5 mins later, "All tickets have been given out." WHAT?! Damn pissed. It didn't look a 500 strong queue 5 mins ago! Who're they taking us for?! 3-year old kid?! Damn! Wrote down my name on the waiting list. Insisted to stay till at least the start of the recital. Saw Gwen, Nerissa, Wendy, some NUSPE members, long time no see... Saw Minyu's name on the waiting list too, so sms her. But she got her share of the tickets! Argh... Waited patiently (like real...) Ticketing counter flooded with desperate people... Which part of "All tickets have been given out, leave your names in the waiting list" can't they understand? Ed and I were just shaking our heads... Just as about we were going to leave, they called me to collect uncollected tickets! Haha... What a stroke of luck!
Ok... The recital itself... Too light, not Beethoven enough, or rather, not the Beethoven I was looking forward to. Pedalling was superb! Loved it alot. Still, couldn't resist the temptation to close my eyes for a quick rest, because of some unfamiliar and boring parts. Oh, I hated the narrative part, "Beethoven's letters"... Please....... I know that guy, and, .... (ok.. no further comments). Ed knows how much I "LOVE" him... Anyway, I was looking for a more aggressive approach, but oh wells, to each his own... Went for prata after the recital. That concluded the not-so-hectic week.
Saturday: Rested at home.
Today: Likewise.
Ok, now for my usual complaints...
I was tasked to be an investigating officer for this case. I needed to write down this fellow officer's statement. I asked a few questions, and he cooperated, very good so far. Until, I asked him a sensitive question, which was also the crucial question to the whole case, and he started lecturing me. WTF! I didn't argue, because there was no point. It was obvious it all started with that decision he made, but he just wouldn't admit. He insisted I shouldn't be asking such a kind of question. Oh wells, I had to be just. I wrote it down anyways. Of course I knew who made that decision. He must have thought I'm dumb, and I would surely listen to him. Mind you, I don't respect you. As a friend, maybe (depends on my mood). As a colleague, you're out of the league, because you like to use your appointment to push your weight around. Hey, we're of the same rank, we work in the same place, can't you stop using your appointment for once?
I did what was supposed to be done. Word for word. I didn't add any stuff to make him seem more guilty, neither did I do anything to make him seem less of a culprit and more of a victim. I'll let big boss decide his fate from my neutral stand (I needed to establish my findings).
My specialist asked me, "Sir, what if you never went OCS? What do you think you'll be doing now?"... Haha... I don't know man... Probably still thinking how to 'keng' everyday... lol...
