The following post is dated 3rd August...

Back from camp once again... I stayed in camp for 2 weeks and finally I'm out... why 2 weeks? because my field camp was over the weekends... Field camp was fun, and bloody tiring... got bitten by sand flies till crazy... dug a hole (which they call it a shell-scrape) to sleep in for 2 days... and yes, with the earthworms and roots... rained everyday, built my basha tent in a super long heavy rain, and after walking 8km in full-battle order... damn it... Learned quite of things from field camp, thought it's exciting... haha... guess i'll learn more of that if i go to command school...

came down with a fever yesterday, 38.1 degrees and rising... woke up as usual; early, but i was a little late, and went for breakfast... was feeling unusually cold, so i asked my platoon mate if he felt cold, he said no... wondered if i was weak... haha... went back to bunk after breakfast, felt so much like sleeping... turned off the fan and lied in bed, and felt the surrounding air quite warm... knew then that something was amiss... woke up 15 mins later and prepared myself for the running activity that was commencing soon... told my section mate i think i have a fever, and he felt my body and confirmed it was fever... he told my officer although i persuaded him not to... because i didn't want to affect my routine exercises... the fever got worsened i guess when i couldn't even balance myself when i stood up from a sitting position, and i felt dizzy, still i wanted to 'garang' for the run... i was later asked to go see the MO by my OC which i tried begging him not to because i didn't want a status just in case I couldn't take the SIT test that was coming on Monday... He said it was fine, so I just went along... Went to Medical Centre, and measured my temperature... Was wondering why after so long, my thermometer didn't 'beep', so i checked it out, and saw the temp, '38.1'... alright, normally, i wouldn't give a damn about this kind of low temp, i would just pop some panadols and sleep... but having a temp more than 37.9 would mean you are given an MC and sent home, which i don't want... so i kept my thermometer, knowing the temperature would rise even higher...

was given some pills and MC... damn it... Asked one of the sergeants if i could book out together with the company since it's on the same day, just that they're leaving at night, while i in the morning... he asked my Platoon commander who disagreed, and i was asked to pack up and go home... damn...

i lost my voice too, bad flu and cough, with seldom occurances of blood in the phlegm... went to see my family doctor, hope i recover soon...

had a weird dream on thursday night, but i won't elaborate...

realised that i'm more 'shuai bian' these days since serving the army... i didn't get proper plasters from the medic for my blisters which my feet are suffering from because of the field camp. I merely took a black tape and use it as a plaster... haha... i know it's bloody unhygienic, but i couldn't be more bothered with getting plasters... haha...

and it's wierd, that i find boiled water wierd-tasting... haha... maybe i'm used to tap water...

oh yes, saw matthew at the cookhouse twice, i think, and edmund once... haha... Ed still didn't get his PES downgrade in the end... haha... wondering when we could all meet again... haiz...

oh... did i tell you guys? i broke my record for 2.4km again! haha... my fastest, ever...
